The Awkward First Post

Now, I don't think I've ever read a blog that had a good first post. I don't expect mine to have one either. It probably won't have a good second or third post. Or even... well you get the idea.

I've started this because I'm taking part in the Hundred Days challenge, in which participants aim for self-improvement through doing something over the course of one hundred days. Some are doing exercise, some are giving up meat, some are raising money for charity. I'm writing limericks. Obviously this is just as beneficial as any of that other stuff. If Amy Winehouse had done limericks instead of drugs, who knows where she'd be today. (Actually, who know where she is today anyway?)

So that's why we're all here. Hopefully people will read this when all the limerick-y fun starts. I probably won't, but then I'll be basking in the glow of all the improvement I'm feeling from writing the buggers.

It's probably also worth noting that as everyone doing this has agreed to record what they're doing I've set myself a second challenge in the form of trying to look like I know what I'm doing with a blog. I don't. Sometimes I barely know what I'm doing with a computer...

The challenge begins on the 1st of December, and from then on there'll be new post everday with tiny glimpses of my genius. Or my descent into madness as I realise that limericks get very annoying and I can't do computer stuff. Either way, there'll be something!
